The victim of yesterday’s tragic auto accident in St. Charles has been identified by St. Charles Police. 52 year-old Charles A. Fowler of Aurora was pronounced dead at Delnor Hospital following the crash of his Ford 150 into a semi-truck and trailer on Kirk Road. His name had been withheld by authorities until his family could be notified. Yesterday, St. Charles Police and Fire Departments responded to the vehicle crash that resulted in the death of  Mr. Fowler. The City of Elgin will celebrate the Fourth of July a bit differently this year. The traditional Fourth of July Parade will not be held, but alternative activities have been planned to engage the community and promote traditions of the holiday. Those activities include a “What Fourth of July Means to Me” home and business decorating contest as well as a kids bike decorating contest, both occurring July 1-11. A fireworks display at Festival Park will be presented on Sunday, July 4.
