A Plano man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train this morning near the intersection of Hale Street and Main Street. According to a press release from the Plano Police Department, at approximately 8:39 a.m. this morning officers responded to the railroad crossing near the intersection of Hale St. and Main St. for a report of an individual who was struck by an Amtrak train. The Fox Valley Antiques Show has been around for decades. 65 years, in fact. But for this, its 66th year, things are a little different. The Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers Association, which produces the annual show, has changed venues from Kane County Fairgrounds to the Dupage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, renaming the event “The First Annual Fox Valley At the Fairgrounds Anitques Show.” While the venue has changed, the offerings on tap remain intriguing. 45 dealers from 10 states will gather under one roof to present the best of Americana. Naperville police are investigating “an exchange of gunfire” at a residence on the city’s southwest side yesterday afternoon. At approximately 2:04 p.m. Subday, police responded to the 2200 block of Wentworth Court to a report of shots fired. The preliminary investigation suggests that an armed subject, who is known to a person at the residence, was able to gain access to the premises. It has yet to be determined as to what transpired but there was an exchange of gunfire between the subject and one person in the home. The subject then fled the area in a vehicle. No one…

On an early morning in September 2005, a group of Aurora gang members attended a party in the 600 block of Lincoln in Aurora. At that party was 21-year-old George Caro. Quinton C. Moore, one of the gang members, along with co-defendants Juan Vargas, Max M. Aguilar, Ruben Hernandez and Roman Lucio, savagely beat Caro senseless that morning. The gang members then took Caro’s shoes and shirt and left him to die.
