Cheap Trick lead guitarist Rick Nielsen will join his son, Miles Nielsen, at Rookie’s Rochaus in West Dundee on Thursday, September 20. Rick Nielsen, leader of legendary rock band Cheap Trick, will also be on hand to promote his new vodka brand ROCK’N Vodka. Actor, construction worker, semi truck driver, entrepreneur. That’s how Rocky Lopez described himself on his Facebook page. His story, chronicled for years through posts and videos on the social media platform, touched hundreds if not thousands of people throughout the Fox Valley area. Lopez, 53, died Wednesday evening when the motorcyle he was riding in West Dundee collided with a white Lexus, driven by a 61-year-old woman from unincorporated Dundee. Two adult males and a juvenile male were hospitalized early Sunday morning after suffering gunshot wounds at a party in Elgin. At approximately 1:22 a.m. Sunday morning, Elgin police officers were called to the 1300 block of Inverness Drive for a reported shooting. Officers found two male adults and one male juvenile with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were subsequently transported to area hospitals. The preliminary investigation shows that there was a large party where an altercation occurred where shots were fired, causing the injuries. The Village of Montgomery will host the 38th Montgomery Fest from Friday to Sunday, August 18-20, 2023. The Fest will be held in downtown Montgomery along the Fox River in Montgomery Park (301 N. The Elburn Lions Club will present Elburn Days from Friday, August 18 to Sunday, August 20. In 1933 ,the Elburn Lions Club began an annual event known as “A Day in the Park,” which later became known as Elburn Days. This family-friendly festival will feature carnival rides, live music, food, craft show, bingo, a pie-contest, tractor pull, and the ever-popular mud volleyball. Bond was set at $100,000 with 10% to apply for a Naperville man accused of soliticiting sex from a 12-year-old girl visa text messaging. The man, 19, is in the United States on a student visa. Judge McPherson also ordered him to surrender his passport as a condition of bond. It is alleged that on August 4, 2023, the accused sent a 12 year-old girl unsolicited text messages, asking her to go on a walk and to send photos of herself to him.
