Tragedy struck Wednesday afternoon when an 85-year-old woman was repositioning her SUV on her driveway and accidentally hit and killed her son. At approximately 12:58pm, Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 11N200 block of Romeo Drive in Elgin where they found a 65-year-old man, Steven Ackmann of Hampshire, with life-treatening injuries in the driveway. Medical attention was rendered on the scene, but Ackmann was pronounced deceased a short time later. Three men are in custody after having been arrested in Naperville in a stolen car carrying multiple machine guns, ammunition and drugs Saturday evening. On Saturday evening at approximately 11:02pm, Naperville police officers conducting surveillance in the Bowlero parking lot at 1515 Aurora Avenue in Naperville allegedly observed a Honda Accord affixed with a temporary registration that came back to a 2008 Nissan. A 51-year-old Naperville woman will remain in custody after her arrest in the shooting death of man in an Oakbrook Terrace hotel Saturday evening. A Montgomery man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 on multiple occassions over an 18-month period. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced Friday that 40-year-old Gerardo Silva has agreed to a sentence of 26 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X felony (2 counts).
