A 42-year-old Elgin man is in custody after being charged with a plethora of burlaries and robberies, including two recent robberies of Elgin banks. The accused was identified by an Elgin Police detective several days after a robbery at the Chase Bank located at 1600 Larkin Avenue in Elgin, which occured on Friday, September 1. Moncrief Jr. of Alabama, who served in both WWII and the Korean War, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroic and extraordinary achievements while participating in aerial flight. ​He died in 2003 at the age of 80. Yet another fatal crash occured in Kane County Sunday afternoon as a collision at the intersection of Walker Road and IL Route 72 in Hampshire Township resulted in the death of a passenger. According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, early Sunday evening a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling north on Walker Road and initially stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of IL Route 72. Update: The identities of two South Elgin High School students killed in a tragic car accident Thursday have been released by authorities after being withheld pending notification of kin. Kammora Campbell, a 17-year-old student from Bartlett, and Talulay Henry, a 16-year-old student from Elgin, were the victims of the accident that occured Thursday morning at the intersection of Illinois Route 25 and Keynon Road. Police believe that the accident was a result of the driver of a 2002 Honda Civic failed to yield while making a left turn off IL Route 25 to Kenyon Road. Both drivers survived the accident.…
