In separate petitions filed Monday, the Colorado-based National Association for Gun Rights and the Nevada-based Firearms Policy Coalition asked the nation’s high court to reverse a decision of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. Kane County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Ruchaj passed away unexpectedly of cardiac arrest today at his home, according to a press release issued by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO). Ruchaj was 50 years of age. Tabletop exercises are discussion-based sessions aimed at reviewing team members’ roles and responses during emergencies. Emergency training and preparation is year-round effort in Kane County. The scenario presented during the two-hour simulation involved a destructive tornado hitting a populated area of Kane County. Participants received details of the hypothetical disaster and collaborated to review and discuss a response plan. A chiropractor practicing in Campton Hills is in custody for allegedly sexually assaulting one his of patients. The 49-year-old South Elgin man has been charged by Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser with the offenses of Criminal sexual assault, class 1 felony, 2 counts; Criminal sexual abuse, class 4 felony, 2 counts; and Battery, class A misdemeanor, 2 counts.
