A new phone scam seems to be making the rounds in the Fox Valley involving thieves representing themselves as police officers. According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, residents have been receiving calls from a “No Caller ID” and/or number 815-740-5552 wherein a man identifies himself as a Deputy or Sergeant from the Will County Sheriff’s Office and informs the victim that they have a warrant out for their arrest due to failing to appear in court for jury duty. A cash reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest of a pair of suspects believed to be responsible for several recent burglary incidents in Naperville. According to Naperville police, there have been a series of incidents involving criminal damage/burglary in the 0-100 block of E. Jefferson Avenue since the end of August: on or about August 30, September 3, and September 7. Police believe the individuals pictured below are connected to the crimes. In what was clearly the biggest upset in the history of Northern Illinois football, the Huskies went into South Bend this afternoon and upset 5th-ranked Notre Dame 16-14. The margin of victory came on a Kanon Woodill 35-yard field goal with 31 seconds on the clock. Northern (2-0) had previously been 0-14 against top 10 teams. The American Red Cross is facing an emergency blood shortage as it experiences the lowest number of people giving blood in the last 20 years. A 43-year-old St. Charles man is in custody after police found him in possession of multiple types of illicit drugs and a massive cache of illegal guns, along with 5000 rounds of ammunition.
