A Gilberts man has been arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and other crimes in connection with a May 20th shooting incident in Elgin. On May 20th, 2023 at 3:02 p.m., Elgin police responded to the area of N. McLean Boulevard and Eagle Road for a reported shooting. Officers located an adult male subject with non-life-threatening injuries who was subsequently transported to an area hospital. Chad Goodman has been named music director of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra. Goodman was selected following a two-year international search that included a pool of nearly 100 applicants. Kane County Sheriff’s deputies gave their final honors to K-9 Hudson yesterday after the police dog was shot and killed in the line of duty Wednesday afternoon in Geneva. Hudson, a Dutch Shephard and 6-year veteran of the force, was killed while attempting to subdue a carjacking offender who brandished a gun after having been stopped by Kane County deputies at the intersection of Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway in Geneva following a high-speed chase from South Elgin. A car-jacking turned into a deadly car chase down Randall Road this afternoon as police chased the offender from South Elgin to Geneva, where he left the vehicle, opened fire on police and was subsequently shot and killed. A 41-year-old massage therapist has been charged with sexually assaulting a client at the Hand & Stone Massage and Spa in Geneva. According to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, on September 11, 2021, the victim arrived for a scheduled massage at Hand & Stone Massage and Spa in the 1400 block of South Randall Road, Geneva. The accused was scheduled as the massage therapist. During the massage, he sexually assaulted the victim.
