A Gilberts man has been arrested and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and other crimes in connection with a May 20th shooting incident in Elgin. On May 20th, 2023 at 3:02 p.m., Elgin police responded to the area of N. McLean Boulevard and Eagle Road for a reported shooting. Kane County Sheriff’s deputies gave their final honors to K-9 Hudson yesterday after the police dog was shot and killed in the line of duty Wednesday afternoon in Geneva. Hudson, a Dutch Shephard and 6-year veteran of the force, was killed while attempting to subdue a carjacking offender who brandished a gun after having been stopped by Kane County deputies at the intersection of Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway in Geneva following a high-speed chase from South Elgin.
