At approximately 11:30 p.m. Monday evening, a confrontation in downtown Naperville led to a man shooting a handgun and escaping with another man before police arrived. No injuries have been reported. At 11:41pm, Naperville police responded to the area of the 100 block of West Jackson Avenue for a report of a subject with a weapon. Based on the preliminary information received from witnesses on scene, two men had confronted these witnesses about an earlier altercation that had occurred. NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has produced the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe to date. Known as Webb’s First Deep Field, this image of galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 is overflowing with detail. As previously reported, two people were wounded by gunfire in an incident early Saturday morning in Elgin. The shooting reportedly occurred previously in the 300 block of Willard Avenue, near Prairie Park, although the victims contacted EPD from the 100 block of Tennyson Ave in the Elgin Historic District. Evidence of gunfire was located on Willard. The victims, two adult females, where found to have non-life-threatening injuries from the attack.
