The Elgin Police Department reported that at approximately 2:21am this morning they responded to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival at the 600 block of Villa Street, evidence of a shooting and property damage were located. No injuries have been reported at this time. An unidentified man was shot this afternoon in the 2700 block of Sheridan Court in Naperville. At approximately 1:49 p.m., Naperville Police officers located a male subject with a gunshot wound to the chest who was immediately transported to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time. Witnesses on the scene were able to provide the name and vehicle description of the offender who had fled the scene. A short time later, an officer spotted the suspect vehicle and after additional units arrived to assist, including the Plainfield Police Department, a traffic stop was initiated near the area…

The Elgin Police Department is looking for a suspect related to an incident that occurred Thursday afternoon at Elgin’s Clock Tower Plaza. At approximately 3:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business located in the 0-100 block of Clock Tower Plaza. A male subject had entered the location and made contact with an employee, whereupon the subject deployed a Taser, striking the employee who received a superficial injury. The City of Naperville issued its latest update in the aftermath of the tornados earlier this week.  It is reproduced in its entirety below. The Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) of northeast Illinois, which includes the American Red Cross, has coordinated a multi-agency resource center for those area residents directly impacted by Sunday’s tornado. After an officer was beaten and strangled after what should have been a routine traffic stop late Monday evening, the Aurora Police Department has been overwhelmed with well-wishers concerned over the officers’ health. The Kane County Health Department will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic from noon to 7pm Friday, June 25, at Larkin High School, 1475 Larkin Ave. in Elgin.
