The Aurora Police Department is searching for a vehicle wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and run overnight on Aurora’s near east side. Just after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, APD’s 911 Telecommunications Center received calls of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run on the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man in the roadway in extremely critical condition. Aurora Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the man to the hospital. Anastasio Rodriguez, a 47 year-old Plainfield man, was found guilty of sexually abusing a girl younger than 13. Kane County Judge Donald M. Tegeler, Jr., convicted Rodriguez of the offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Class 2 felony. Rodriguez waived his right to a jury trial. Rodriguez remains free on $10,000 bond. Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Stacey Wittman and Jessica Michels presented evidence during the trial that in December 2011 Rodriguez sexually abused the victim, whom he knew.
