The Aurora Police Department is searching for a vehicle wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and run overnight on Aurora’s near east side. Just after 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, APD’s 911 Telecommunications Center received calls of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run on the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man in the roadway in extremely critical condition. Aurora Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the man to the hospital. The Aurora Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying a person related to a Hit and Run crash. The incident occurred at the CVS on Eola Road and New York Street on September 2nd, 2021 at 12:24 pm. Anastasio Rodriguez, a 47 year-old Plainfield man, was found guilty of sexually abusing a girl younger than 13. Kane County Judge Donald M. Tegeler, Jr., convicted Rodriguez of the offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Class 2 felony. Rodriguez waived his right to a jury trial. Rodriguez remains free on $10,000 bond. Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Stacey Wittman and Jessica Michels presented evidence during the trial that in December 2011 Rodriguez sexually abused the victim, whom he knew. At approximately 8:44pm officers responded to a report of shots fired and, upon arrival, evidence of a shooting was located. No injuries or property damage has been found or reported at this time.
