Street racing and guns don’t mix very well. Early Sunday morning, at approximate 1:52am, Elgin police officers responded to an industrial complex located at Commerce Drive and Tollgate Road for a reported shooting. Officers arrived and found that a large group of vehicles and subjects had gathered for the purpose of street racing. Officers discovered that, at some point during the gathering, a verbal altercation occurred and an offender fired shots into the direction of those who had gathered, striking three victims. Kane County Sheriff deputies will be on-site at Burlington Central today. Another social media threat to a Kane County high school was identified Saturday morning. Unlike previous such threats in the last month, the target of this threat was ambiguous. At approximately 9:30 am Saturday morning, Kane County Sheriff’s deputies received information that there was a social media threat of violence at “Central High School.” The problem is that there are several “Central High Schools” in both Kane County and in the region generally. At about 2:30am, officers responded to the 300 block of South Belmont for a report of shots fired. Evidence of gunfire was located, but no injuries or property damage have been reported at this time. The Aurora Police Department issued a report from the scene of a shooting Friday night sometime around 11pm. “Officers are on the scene of a person shot in the 400 block of East Park Avenue. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are en route to the scene. Do you have any information or have video/pictures to share? The Kane County Sheriff’s office has issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who escaped from his home monitoring system recently. Barkiest T Bradford, 21, cut off his GPS Ankle monitor at his last known address of 807 Taylor St., Apt 505, Dekalb, IL. Bradford is described as a black male, 5’6″ tall, approximately 154 pounds, and may go by the nickname BroBradford. Bradford currently has an outstanding warrant in Kane County for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon X3; Possession of Firearm w/out a FOID; Unlawful Use of a Weapon; and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
