Two men suffered gunshot wounds this morning on Columbia Avenue just west of Rt 25. At approximately 5:45 a.m. this morning, officers responded to the 500 block of Columbia Avenue for a reported shooting. While en route to the location, it was determined that two adult male victims with apparent gunshot wounds had arrived at an area hospital for treatment of what appears to be non-life threating injuries. Officers on scene located evidence of gunfire and property damage. Elgin police responded to a shots fired incident on the city’s west side yesterday morning. It was the 56th such incident in Elgin in 2021. On Tuesday morning, November 2, at 7:29 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Pauline Drive for a report of shots fired. Evidence of gunfire was located. There are no injuries, but property damage has been reported at this time. Initial information gathered at the scene indicates that the parties involved are known to each other and that this is an isolated incident. The annual St. Charles Veterans Day Ceremony will be held Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m., in Fire Station 1, 112 N. Riverside Ave. Please join us to show your appreciation for our country’s veterans. First Fridays will celebrate Day of the Dead and feature more than two dozen venues open with art, music, and more on November 5.  Aurora Downtown’s Sugar Skull City will continue through Sunday with several venues offering special Day of the Dead activities at First Fridays. The Aurora Police Department is looking for assistance in locating 14 year old Jaqueline Hernandez, who is missing from the city’s west side. Jaquenline was last seen in the area of Jackson St/Benton St the evening of 11/02/21 wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black slides. The Aurora Police Department is seeking help from the public in identifying this man in relation to two vehicle burglaries in the 500 block of Station Blvd on September 27th.   If you recognize this person or have any information, please call APD’s Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500. Three people were killed early Saturday morning in a fiery car crash at the intersection of Warrenville Road and Navistar Drive. On Saturday morning, October 30, at approximately 1:18 a.m., Lisle Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Warrenville Road and Navistar Drive for a traffic crash involving two vehicles. Upon arriving, officers found a dead man in the driver’s seat of a severely damaged vehicle. The victim, a male in his forties from Aurora, has yet to be publicly identified. The Illinois High School Football Playoffs got under way Friday and Saturday, and the Fox Valley acquitted itself fairly well, with high-ranking teams taking care of business and a couple of surprising upsets from the lower seeds.
