In an eventful two days this week, the investigation into the tragic murder of Wheeling’s Ja’nya Murphy, 21, and her one year-old daughter Jaclyn “Angel” Dobbs took a significant turn, as the body of the infant was discovered in Northwest Indiana Thursday, “deceased and cast off in a cold pond,” according to Wheeling Police, and an arrest warrant was issued by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for a Pinegree Grove man for the killing of Ms. Murphy. Another threat of school violence was identified as a hoax this week as the Fox Valley continues to deal with a series of such incidents in the region. According to the Hampshire Police Department, on Wednesday evening the department received information of a social media post indicating a threat of gun violence at the Hampshire Middle School. Parents were informed via email and the school district and police immediately launched an investigation into the threat. Later Wednesday evening, the source of the threat had been identified and the district sent another email indicating that there was no danger to students.…

A Naperville Police investigation into a threat made against Naperville Central High School on Oct. 19 has resulted in felony disorderly conduct charges against two juveniles. The two juveniles, both male, are 15 and 16 years old. Both reside in Naperville.
