4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where the bell tolls for thee.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Why Is The “First” Friday Privileged?
(Just burnishing our “woke” creds.)
Yes, it’s the first Friday of the month and we all know what that means – time to turn the calendar page. (Do people still use actual calendars?)
It also means that it’s First Fridays in downtown Aurora, and that’s a good thing.
The list of activities during this monthly event is too long to list….although, come to think of it, that’s exactly what we do in the article linked.
Never mind, just go have fun.

Beer and Coffee: Who Knew?
We thought this was a pretty interesting, if unorthodox, idea.
Fox Valley Mall in Aurora is hosting a coffee and beer tasting event. We never thought to put those together.
Well, maybe “never” is too strong a word. We mean, it is true that consuming large quantities of the latter usually leads to consuming large quantities of the former the next morning.
So, yeah, it kinda does make sense. Who’da thought?

Well This Is Cheerful…
Nothing says “spring” like a….Mass for the Dead.
And that’s what’s happening at the Elgin Symphony Orchestra this weekend.
Mozart Requiem will be performed Saturday at the Hemmens in Elgin. In all seriousness (stop laughing), it ought to be a stirring experience.
And if not, at least you lapped up a little culture, you philistines.

And Finally…
Time is running out to see the Paramount Theatre production of “Groundhogs Day: The Musical.”
This is the penultimate weekend to see the show and…wait, NO! Not you people, too?
“Penultimate” means “second-to-last,” not “last.” Honestly, my 9th grade English teacher, Mrs. Hartman (bless her), would be aghast.
Anyway, this is the second-to-last weekend to see this fun performance.

It’s gonna be a mild, dry weekend according to the weather weenies. (Which means it’ll hail all weekend.) No precip in the forecast, and Saturday will reach 67F. Alas, the temp drops a bit on Sunday with a high of 48, but still. As ever, plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
