Every year, 10 unique small businesses come together to create one vibrant, walkable destination in the heart of downtown Batavia. On Friday, May 8, the 7th season of the Batavia Boardwalk Shops officially begins.
To celebrate the start of the season, the community has been invited to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10:30am on Friday, May 8, just before the shops officially open for the day.
Located at the corner of Wilson and River Streets, the Boardwalk Shops feature a curated collection of unique micro-businesses offering everything from handcrafted goods and specialty foods to fashion, books, and home décor. These charming local businesses are more than just a place to shop—they’re where ideas come to life, where entrepreneurs take their next big step, and where the community comes together to support local in the most meaningful way.
“Our new shop owners have been working hard to bring to life some of the most vibrant and beautiful shops we’ve had yet. Guests are invited to enjoy their visit by grabbing a dirty soda or sweet treat, relaxing on the newly renovated brick paver patio, or snapping a photo with their shopping bags in front of the ‘Shop Like a Local’ photo opportunity. Make it a must-do on your summer bucket list—then come back and do it again. And again.” said Kristen Desler, Assistant Director of Batavia MainStreet.
From May 8 through June 28, every purchase made at the Boardwalk Shops earns shoppers an entry into a weekly raffle for a chance to win $50 in Downtown Dollars—redeemable like cash at more than 60 local Batavia businesses. One winner will be drawn each week, so the more you shop, the more chances you have to win.
After visiting the Boardwalk, shoppers are encouraged to explore the rest of downtown Batavia for even more retail and restaurant experiences.
