Monarch Dance, featuring artists from The Joffrey Ballet Chicago, will be performing The Nutcracker: City Lights on Sunday, December 21, at The Batavia Fine Arts Centre in Batavia. The performance begins at 7:30pm.

Witness a new kind of magic in the Chicagoland Area. The Nutcracker: City Lights is the first of Its kind. Step into the sparkle and rhythm of the city— a dazzling reimagining of the beloved holiday classic. You may have seen The Nutcracker before, but you’ve never seen it like this. Tradition meets transformation as Clara finds herself in the big city on her own, waltzing into a bright, modern world energized with both classic jazz and traditional holiday spirit.

It’s a classical-meets-jazz adventure, filled with Chicago flair, live rhythm, and surprises that will leave audiences breathless. With every step, Clara discovers the magic hidden in the rhythm of city life — from the hum of street performers to the bright lights that dance across the skyline. Each moment pulses with movement, color, and sound as Tchaikovsky’s timeless score meets the heartbeat of the city. Featuring guest artists from The Joffrey Ballet Chicago, this production brings world-class artistry right to your town.

Tickets start at $61 and can be purchased here.

Batavia Fine Arts Center is located at 1250 West Wilson Street in Batavia.
