A 39-year-old St. Charles woman is in custody after allegedly stabbing another woman on St. Charles’ west side Tuesday evening.

At approximately 7:50pm Tuesday, the St. Charles police officers was dispatched to an apartment building in the 100 block of Walnut Drive for a report of a person who had been stabbed. Officers were met by the suspect, who told them that she had just stabbed another woman. She was detained, and officers quickly located the victim in a nearby apartment, where paramedics rendered aid.

The victim was transported to nearby Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital with multiple stab wounds. She was later airlifted to Loyola Hospital in Chicago due to the extent of her injuries.

The suspect was taken to the St. Charles Police Department facing charges of Attempted First Degree Murder (a Class M felony); Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm (a Class 3 felony); Aggravated Battery/Deadly Weapon (a Class 3 felony); and 2 Counts of Domestic Battery (a Class A felony).

She was later transported to the Kane County Jail for a conditions/detention hearing, where she is currently being held.
