The 156th Annual Kane County Fair comes to the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles from Wednesday to Sunday, July 16-20.
This annual summer tradition celebrates the best of family fun activities with 4-H animal exhibits; unlimited carnival rides; fun kids events (Swifty Swine Racing Pigs, Kidbucks Game Show, and Friendly Farms Petting Zoo); plus grandstand thrills (Professional Championship Bullriders and Cowgirls; and Ramer’s Demo Derby); live music; and delicious fair food.
Take time out on a summer’s day and night to enjoy the best of an old fashioned treasured event that appeals to families everywhere and honors the 4-H families throughout Kane County. County fairs are a beloved tradition, but more than anything else, it is about the people who make it special every year at the Kane County Fair.
“We look forward to seeing you and are proud to present our family-friendly Kane County Fair,” says Larry Breon, President of the Kane County Fair Board of Directors. “We’ve got plenty of free parking and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
4-H honors the legacy of agriculture in our communities. Families exhibit their animals and win awards for the hard work of taking care of them all year long. Kids love to see the animals up close in the exhibition areas.
In addition, the Kane County Fair board awards scholarships each year to 4-H students. This year’s $3,000 scholarship recipients are Samuel Haviland of Elgin (A-Bit-More 4-H Club) and Autumn Kriegel of Hampshire (Burlington Ag 4-H Club). According to Breon, “They achieved high academic excellence while being actively involved in their 4-H clubs and at the Kane County Fair, as well as giving back to their communities.”
The five day Kane County Fair begins with an evening of carnival only on the first day. Families and kids enjoy the unlimited ride specials which continue throughout the rest of the fair dates.
Brought to the Kane County Fair by the family-owned Fantasy Amusement Co., you’ll find a variety of children, teen and adult thrill rides mixed with themed games of skill and fun food booths. Along the Midway, there are plenty of tasty option of fair food, too – from fresh roasted corn with butter or elote; grilled burgers, chicken, and turkey legs; funnel cakes; and much more.
The weekend includes the JP Classic Car Show where you can see the exhibit of old/new, stock/modified; trucks and motorcycles.
The grandstand thrill events include the action-packed Professional Championship Bullriders and Cowgirls on Friday night and two shows on Saturday; as well as the raucous smoke-filled Demolition Derby with two shows on Sunday.
Live music on the Miller Lite Soundstage fills the air with rock and country music performed by the area’s favorite performance artists and bands. This year’s line up includes Eric Chesser; Tripping Billies; Mark Atkins; Hillbilly Rockstarz; and How Rude.
Enjoy the outdoors with family and friends and join the fun at the Kane County Fair this year.
