An Elgin man has received a sentence of seven years in prison for disseminating and possessing child pornography.

Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced Thursday that 65-year-old Steven J. Young agreed to a sentence of seven years in exchange for a guilty plea to the offense of child pornography – disseminating, victim younger than 13, Class X felony.

Judge John A. Barsanti accepted the plea.

“Being in possession of child pornography and disseminating child pornography are serious crimes that our community does not tolerate,” Assistant State’s Attorney Matthew Rodgers said.
