4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where we remain unindicted…for now.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Keep On Truckin’
We’re not really sure when the whole food truck craze began in earnest.
For us, the first time we even heard about such things was when we saw a movie about a hot-shot chef in LA who got fired and began his rebound by opening a humble food truck.
We can’t remember the name of the movie. But you know it, we’re sure you do.
Regardless, the craze is in full tilt, so check it out in Montgomery this weekend!

“Is This Heaven?” “It’s Duke’s”
OK, listen up.
If there is ONE thing you’re going to do this weekend…nay, this entire summer…it has to be visiting Duke’s Blues & BBQ Blues Festival, held this year in Carpentersville.
We’re serious. The BBQ is amazing, the music heavenly, and the whole vibe is just… well, like a super-hip neighborhood block party.
Trust us. It’s the bomb.

For The Gypsy In All Of Us
It’s been called “the greatest musical ever written.”
Obviously, that title has a lot of competition, so we’ll keep out of the fray.
But for a heaping taste of music and Americana, you can’t beat “Gypsy: A Musical Fable” playing this weekend at BrightSide Theatre in Naperville.
Look, it’s got music from Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. ‘Nuff said.

And Finally…
Yes! It’s strawberry time!
Windy Acres in Geneva has “fruit’ festivals throughout the summer. To be honest, they are some of our favorite things.
Well this weekend kicks things off with the beloved Strawberry Festival, which features all things strawberry. Think Bubba in Forest Gump; strawberry ice cream, strawberry pie, strawberry shortcake…” You get the idea.

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
