4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where Scotch isn’t just for breakfast anymore.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
What, No Cannibals?
Sorry about that.
But every time we hear “South Pacific” our mind immediately turns to cannibalism.
What does that say about us? Don’t answer. We really don’t want to know.
But we’re sure that an evening with Rodgers & Hammerstein will be wonderful.

Moonlighting…
We just can’t seem to get enough of the new venue in St. Charles, the Moonlight Theatre.
It’s the intimacy, we think, that grabs us. Kinda feels like some of the old jazz clubs we frequented down in Chicago in our misspent youth. (When we weren’t in jail, of course.)
Anyway, this weekend you can take your pick between live music or comedy. Or hell, do both. Live a little!

Little Pink Elephants…er…Houses
OK, we’ll admit it, we get annoyed with Mellencamp’s politics sometimes.
And we’re Illinoisans, and he’s from Indiana, so that’s a problem.
However, in the broader context, he’s midwestern, so we have solidarity against the East and West Coast barbarians.
And he’s American, so we have solidarity against those damned foreign barbarians.
So, on balance, do your patriotic duty and go listen to this JCM tribute band. And check out the Village Squire while you’re there.

And Finally…
The Norris Cultural Arts Center is truly a jewel in our Fox Valley crown.
The center itself is gorgeous, and the wide variety of artistic and cultural experiences it supports is magnificent.
This is their 45th anniversary, and they’re celebrating with an evening with Grammy-Award-winning guistarist and composer Jim Peterik. We’re sure it’ll be a fantastic evening, and it’s worth your while to support an institution so integral to the cultural life of the Fox Valley.
No pressure, though….

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
