4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where Black Friday involves nunchucks.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Let There Be Light
Of all the Christmas events in the Fox Valley every year, we kinda have to tip our hat to St. Charles for sheer glitz.
The annual Electric Christmas Parade is Vegas-worthy in its bright displays and wired vehicles.
True, other venues have similar parades, but nothing quite on the scale of St. Chuck. So head on out and check it out.

Ok, We Know What You’re Thinking…
Is it just us, or does The Nutcracker seem like a wild acid trip?
We mean, c’mon, we love the music. And we love the dancing. And we love the nostalgia.
But seriously. Giant rats and nutcracker princes, and a party represented by every region on earth it seems? It all seems kinda psychedelic, doesn’t it?
Still, we go every year. So what does that say about us?

More Lights…
So, we said at the outset that St. Chuck has the most gaudy of Christmas parades (and we mean that in a good way), but Naperville is no slouch.
(“Don’t sell ourself short, you’re a tremendous slouch!” Name that movie!)
The Naperville Holiday Parade of Lights is a worthy alternative to St. Chuck’s parade. But why choose? Naperville’s parade is Friday, St. Chuck’s is on Saturday. Why not make it a two-fer?

And Finally…
Hang out with Eb, Jake, Bobby C, the Tim that is Tiny and all three Christmas ghosts at the MAC at College of DuPage.
Dickens’s A Christmas Carol is one of our favorite holiday treats. Forget all the modern remakes like Scrooged, the original simply can’t be improved upon.
(But watch out for Mrs. Cratchit. She’s got a mouth on her, that one…)

We’ve given up on predicting the weather. The Weather Channel is always wrong. You’re on your own, folks.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
