    Featured Cocktail | Oliver!

Oliver spends his day tending to eight local Kentucky botanicals. Carefully planting lemon verbena plants near his front porch, because once their leaves are touched they release a refreshing lemon fragrance!

His nights are filled with endless reading and research. Countless books with highlighted passages, and recipes now occupy his living room. One of the highlighted passages was about a mythical distillery, castle & key.

Legend has it that castle & key create magic with local Kentucky botanicals. Oliver harvested his botanicals, packed his books, and left for the castle.

His offerings were deemed worthy and roots of ruin gin became a reality!

Cheers and enjoy the good vibes ✌🏽

I started off working for non-profits, then teaching at charter schools in marginalized communities throughout Chicago, Oakland, CA and Portland, Oregon. My passion for learning, teaching and history is undeniable, but I was struggling financially, so I began moonlighting as a bartender just to make ends meet, and unexpectedly fell madly in love with every aspect of the bar business. For my squad and I, it is about so much more than making a great cocktail. It’s about memories, music, history and sharing those moments, ensuring you embrace the present, reflect on the past and securing a bright future.
