A Dundee man has been charged with a wide range of felonies after allegedly breaking into the St. Charles Public Works facility and stealing a utility truck, and then allegedly stealing another car and setting in on fire. According to a St. Charles news release, on Wednesday at approximately 9:45pm a St. Charles Police Officer located a damaged and dislodged security gate at the St. Charles Public Works facility at 1405 South 7th Street. Registration is now open for the 6th Annual AURORA POOCH PARADE to be held on Sunday, October 6. The yearly competitive convention of canines will be held at 11am at the Phillips Park Sunken Garden, 1000 Ray Moses Drive in Aurora. An 18-year-old Elgin student has been arrested and charged in relation to a threat made against Elgin’s Larkin High School yesterday afternoon. Adding to the disconcerting trend of social media threats to schools across the nation and here in Kane County, at approximately 1:00pm yesterday the Elgin Police Department was made aware of a school threat at Larkin High School. The social media threat was relayed through a third party to the School Resource Officer who began an immediate investigation. On Wednesday, the Kane County Cougars secured their spot in the Miles Wolff Cup Final with a walk-off win over the Chicago Dogs, clinching the East Division Championship. The City of Elgin is well on it’s way to a record year for gunfire incidents after another arrest for firearms violations this week. On Monday at 5:21pm, Elgin police officers responded to the 400 block of Addison Street having received reports of a dispute involving shots fired. Investigators discovered two firearms and an airsoft gun and, after interviewing multiple subjects, confirmed that shots were fired during the incident. No injuries were reported..
