A 19-year-old man is dead after is car collided with a semi-truck on Butterfield Road near Eola Road Thursday morning. Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 6:30am a red Saturn SUV, driven by a 19-year-old man, collided with a semi-truck on Butterfield Road just east of Hedge Row Drive. A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, which resulted in significant damage to all three vehicles. The drivers of the semi-truck and the third vehicle were transported to local hospitals by Aurora Fire Department paramedics with injuries. An Oswego man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for drunkenly slamming his Ford-150 pickup truck into another vehicle, killing the driver, while returning from a Bears game in 2021. A Naperville man was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of drunk driving and, in a separate incident, brutally killing his family dog. Last week, DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin announced that 36-year-old Nathan Gonzalez has been sentenced to concurrent terms of five years and three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following his guilty plea to one count of Aggravated DUI and one count of Aggravated Cruelty, respectively. An 18-year-old man from Waterman is in custody after Kane County Sheriff’s deputies found him beating a 71-year-old woman, a family member, at a residence in Big Rock Saturday. A 42-year-old Aurora man is dead after being hit by a work van on Farnsworth Avenue early Monday morning. At approximately 4:20am Monday, deputies from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash near the intersection of Farnsworth Avenue and Summit Avenue in Aurora Township. A 5-year-old child was tragically killed Tuesday after apparently being struck by a vehicle in a driveway in St. Charles. At approximately 5:09pm Tuesday, the St. Charles Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a driveway in the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive for a traffic crash in which a 5-year-old child had been struck. Upon arrival, officers located a neighbor performing CPR on the child and immediately took over. Three suspects are in custody after being observed by Naperville police officers behaving suspiciously and subsequently stealing clothes from a downtown Naperville clothing stores. Early last week, the attention of officers patrolling the downtown area was drawn to a rental vehicle with multiple occupants not wearing seatbelts. The officers saw two females exit the vehicle, put on an extra layer of clothing, and enter Lululemon on Main Street while the third subject stayed in the vehicle. A 17-year-old male was shot and killed Monday evening on Aurora’s east side. At approximately 9:33pmMonday, Aurora Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block of Metropolitan Street., where they located a 17-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Patrol officers immediately began life-saving efforts before Aurora Fire Paramedics transported the victim to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
