An officer at the Kane County jail was cleared of any wrongdoing in relation to an attempted suicide by an inmate in January. On Tuesday, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser finalized her review of an investigation by the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force into the incident, an investigation that was requested by Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain’s office. The report outlines how the involved Correctional Services Officer (CSO) at the jail, who had no forewarning of the inmate’s suicidal behavior, nevertheless acted promptly to mitigate the potential harm to the defendant, and immediately initiated life-saving measures.
