Naperville police have arrested a 30-year-old Chicago man in connection with the burglary of a gas station in early December. According to police, the man is one of two suspects in the incident. On Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, Naperville Police responded to a BP gas station on the 2800 block of Book Road for a delayed report of a burglary that had occurred overnight. A 54-year-old Yorkville man has been sentenced to 9 years in prison for sexually assaulting a sleeping woman in May 2022. Kendall County State’s Attorney Eric Weis announced that John Sheridan was sentenced to 9 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge Robert Pilmer after a contested sentencing hearing for the offense of Criminal Sexual Assault. Sheridan was convicted by Judge Pilmer back in October of 2023 of Criminal Sexual Assault, a non-probationable Class 1 Felony. The sentencing range was from this offense was 4-15 years in prison. Authorities are investigating the death of a 46-year-old woman on Aurora’s west side Saturday afternoon. At 4:49pm Saturday, Aurora police officers responded to reports of a vehicle crash and shots fired near Prairie Street and Woodlawn Avenue in Aurora. Upon arriving, officers discovered a single vehicle crash with a 46-year-old female suffering from gunshots wounds inside the vehicle. Aurora Fire Department Paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later. No other injuries were reported during the incident.
