The 26th annual St. Charles Fine Art Show will take place Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 25th from 10am-6pm, and Sunday, May 26th from 10am-5pm. A man is in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot yesterday on Elgin’s west side. At 6:42pm Sunday evening, Elgin police officers responded to the 500 block of North McLean Boulevard for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male subject with apparent non-life-threatening injuries who was subsequently transported to an area hospital. The identity of the injured man has not been released. The incident is under active investigation and unnamed subjects are in custody. A 44-year-old Harvey man was arrested late Wednesday afternoon after police allegedly found cocaine in his car following a routine traffic stop. Just before 5:00pm on Wednesday, officers observed the suspect commit multiple traffic violations while driving a vehicle near the intersection of Diehl Road and Raymond Drive. During the course of the traffic stop, police located .1 grams of alleged crack cocaine inside the vehicle and placed the suspect under arrest.   Following the arrest, the suspect was transported to the Naperville Detention Center where a search revealed 21.1 additional grams of alleged crack cocaine on his person.
