An unidentified man is in hospital after an early-morning shooting on Elgin’s east side. At 12:10am this morning, Elgin police officers responded to the 600 block of Dover Drive for a reported shooting inside of a residence, where they found an adult male victim who was subsequently transported to an area hospital. A 38-year-old Elgin man has pleaded guilty in the strangulation death of his wife in July 2021. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser announced today that Victor H. An officer at the Kane County jail was cleared of any wrongdoing in relation to an attempted suicide by an inmate in January. On Tuesday, Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie L. Mosser finalized her review of an investigation by the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force into the incident, an investigation that was requested by Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain’s office.
