Two Carpentersville men have been arrested in relation to a shooting Sunday evening that left a man hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. At 6:42pm Sunday evening, Elgin police officers responded to the 500 block of North McLean Boulevard for a reported shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male subject with apparent non-life-threatening injuries who was subsequently transported to an area hospital. The identity of the injured man has not been released. 2023 Wood Award Recipient Kristie Dienst has been named Parade Marshal for the 2024 Swedish Days Parade by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.  According to a press release from the Chamber, Dienst was born and raised in Geneva.  She grew up on the East Side above her father’s music school, which is now Country Village Meats.  Even during her time at Geneva High School, she was busy, involved in cheerleading, choir, student council, pep club, and was even a hall monitor.  She learned from her parents to appreciate all things Geneva and give back to the community that gave her…

A 29-year-old West Chicago man is in custody after allegedly selling cocaine to an undercover Naperville police officer in downtown Naperville. As part of a wider initiative, the Naperville Police Department had developed the suspect as a potential source of illegal narcotics in the DuPage County area. On May 6, the suspect allegedly sold approximately 2.5 grams of cocaine to an undercover Naperville police officer while in a vehicle in downtown Naperville. Wisconsin teens are jumping their way into one of the coolest summer jobs in Lake Geneva. On Tuesday, June 11, the Lake Geneva Cruise Line will hold their annual tryout to choose this year’s mail delivery jumpers aboard the U.S. Mailboat Walworth. There are only a handful of places in the country where mail is still delivered by boat. 2024 marks the 108th year that the U.S. Mail has been delivered by boat on Lake Geneva. According to the National Weather Service, unseasonably warm, humid and breezy conditions today will give way to the threat of severe thunderstorms tonight. An outbreak of dangerous severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes and widespread damaging winds is expected between 7pm and 1am this evening for the Fox Valley region. A 32-year-old Naperville man is dead after his motorcycle crashed with an SUV on the east side of Naperville Friday evening. At 6:43pm Friday evening, the Naperville Police and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the 1600 block of 77th Street for a traffic crash with injuries. The crash involved a black motorcycle and a white sports utility vehicle. Despite a good Samaritan’s lifesaving efforts, the driver of the motorcycle, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead on scene. The 26th annual St. Charles Fine Art Show will take place Memorial Day Weekend on Saturday, May 25th from 10am-6pm, and Sunday, May 26th from 10am-5pm.
