Two men have been convicted on federal kidnapping charges for conspiring to abduct victims at gunpoint in Naperville and other Chicago suburbs in 2019. Sedgwick Williams and Tai Hon La conspired with each other and others to carry out the kidnappings in the fall of 2019.  Williams personally participated in kidnappings that occurred in Naperville and Westchester in October and November 2019.  Williams and La also attempted a third kidnapping in South Holland, Ill., in December 2019.  Their efforts to abduct the intended victim in that incident were unsuccessful, and they were both arrested fleeing from the South Holland residence.…

A Naperville woman has been arrested for allegedly neglecting her dog Olive to the point of near-starvation and dehydration. Following an investigation launched when a concerned citizen reported a case of potential animal abuse last fall, the woman, 32, was charged with multiple felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty after turning herself in to police on Tuesday. The concerned citizen met with Animal Control Officers in October 2023 and reported they had agreed to take care of Olive, a pit bull mix, while the owner, the suspect, was on a business trip. An apparent double-murder suicide was discovered Thursday afternoon after police made a check on welfare visit to a downtown Elgin residence. On Thursday at 1:57pm, officers responded to the 100 block of South State Street for a check on welfare visit after a caller reported not seeing their neighbors for an extended period of time. Officers had to force entry into the residence where they located three subjects who appeared to have been deceased for some time. A 19-year-old Naperville man is in custody having been accused of using a garage door opener to gain entrance to a local residence and stealing a car key fob. According to Naperville police, on Tuesday at approximately 1:25am, residents at the 2600 block of Blakely Lane contacted police to report a residential burglary that had just occurred. The second annual Elgin Pride Parade and Festival in will be held in downtown Elgin on June 1st, 2024, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The parade steps off at 11:00am heading north on Riverside Drive and returning south on Grove Avenue, culminating at Festival Park.
