The Elgin Police Department has released the body-worn camera video of an officer-involved shooting that occurred on January 13, 2024 in the 900 block of Oak Ridge Boulevard. According to EPD, on that day at 1:28 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of Oak Ridge Boulevard for a reported suicidal subject. A 43-year-old Indiana man is in custody after a multi-year investigation concluded with his arrest on felony aggravated identity theft and theft charges. The investigation was initiated in October 2021 when a family member of an elderly Naperville resident reported a live-in tenant and aide failed to fulfill his obligations and abused the elderly person’s trust.
