A man was shot and killed early this morning on Elgin’s west side. At 1:04 a.m., Elgin police officers responded to the 200 block of South Aldine Street for a reported shooting. Upon arriving, officers located an adult male subject with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary information received is that this incident appears to be isolated with no threat to the community. A Yorkville man is dead after his vehicle struck a traffic signal early this morning in Yorkville. According to Yorkville police, at approximately 1:50 a.m. officers responded to the intersection of Route 47 and Route 71 for a report of a single vehicle car accident. Police found a 30-year-old man and applied life-saving techniques, after which he was transported to a nearby hospital. The man was subsequently pronounced deceased.
