According to a press release from the Batavia Police Department, a bicyclist was hit by an SUV at the intersection of South Batavia Avenue and Union Avenue in Batavia this afternoon. The bicyclist is in hospital in critical condition. Police are investigating the crash which occurred on at 2:29 PM Wednesday afternoon. The preliminary investigation revealed that a newer model GMC Denali was southbound on S. Batavia Avenue when it struck a bicyclist in the intersection. On the morning of March 23, 2018, Thaddeus Jones broke into a woman’s home in unincorporated Naperville, sexually assaulted her, and then forced her into her car to drive to her bank to withdraw money from her account. Jones now faces 100 years in prison. A man was shot and hospitalized on the northwest side of Naperville early yesterday morning. The identity of the victim has not been released. At approximately 12:16 a.m. monday morning, Naperville Police Department officers responded to the 700 block of Inland Circle for the report of a subject that had been shot.
