Well, she certainly got her money’s worth. On Tuesday at approximately 12:27 p.m., an Illinois State Trooper allegedly observed a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta traveling 107 mph in a 60-mph zone westbound on I-88 in Naperville. The trooper performed a traffic stop on the vehicle but, as the trooper walked towards the vehicle, the female driver, identified as being from Sleepy Hollow, fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Between June 2018 and May 2019, Mark Rivera was a lay pastor at the Anglican Church of North America in Big Rock, Illinois. He was also a child predator. Yesterday, Rivera, who now lives in Winfield, was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment in the Illinois Department of Corrections after having been previously convicted of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child – Class X felony (two counts) and aggravated criminal sexual abuse – Class 2 felony (three counts). A Genoa man who has been missing since he last contacted family members by phone at 6:30pm on Friday, February 24, has been found dead in Carroll Park in Genoa. According to a Genoa Police Department press release, the body of Daniel Elkinton, 41, who had been reported missing by his family on Monday, February 27 after having not been heard from since the previous Friday, was found Saturday morning near the Kishwaukee River approximately 100 feet south of a pedestrian bridge in Carroll Park. A 22-year-old St. Charles man was caught in action burglarizing parked cars by police early Monday morning after police received a call about a “suspicious man.” According to a press release from the St. Charles Police Department, on Monday at approximately 5:26 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Walnut Drive for the report of a suspicious person seen making entry to parked vehicles in the area.
