Two people were killed early Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on Army Trail Road near Bartlett. According to a report by the DuPage County Sheriff’s office, at approximately 5:40 pm Tuesday, 28-year-old Jacob Lulek of Carol Stream was driving his Hyundai westbound on Army Trail at a high rate of speed. Lulek passed several cars, crossing over the double-yellow lines frequently on the winding road. According to the report, eventually Lulek struck an eastbound vehicle head-on. An Addison woman is in custody after allegedly having stabbed another woman in a Naperville apartment on Tuesday. At approximately 4:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, Naperville police responded to an apartment building on the 100 block of East Bailey Road for a report of a stabbing. Responding officers learned that a female had been stabbed by another female while inside the apartment of a mutual acquaintance. The suspect had fled the scene on foot. The Aurora Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a man was found suffering from fatal injuries in his residence on the city’s east side Friday night. On riday at approximately 8:40 p.m., APD received a report of a man found inside his residence in the 700 block of Grove Street. Officers found the man suffering from fatal injuries. Aurora Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene and the victim, identified as 68-year-old Isidro Nevarez, was pronounced deceased. A Leyden High School student suddenly collapsed and died during an event at Naperville North High School Friday evening. The student, Daniel Moshi of Franklin Park, was 17 years old. The cause of death has not been disclosed. According to the Naperville Fire Department, officers responded to the high school around 6:18 p.m. for an “unconscious” 17-year-old boy. The teen, Moshi, was taken to Edwards Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. According to the Illinois State Police, a mountain lion (Puma concolor – cougar) was struck and killed Sunday night on Interstate 88 near Maple Park in DeKalb County. Troopers originally responded to a call of a car accident involving a deer on eastbound I-88 near milepost 104.25. When troopers arrived at the scene, they discovered the animal was not a deer, but a mountain lion. None of the occupants of the vehicle were injured in the accident, according to officials.
