In the early morning hours of March 23, 29-year-old Alexander Authement got into an argument with his pregnant girlfriend – an argument which ended with him punching her in the face, pushing her to the ground and savagely kicking her. The Kane County Cougars organization has announced the game schedule for the 2023 season. Opening night will take place on Thursday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. The Cougars will play 50 home games at Northwestern Medicine Field in 2023 and return 25 spectacular firework shows as well as weekly specials such as Thirsty Thursday with $2 beers, hot dogs and sodas. Update: The identities of the deceased and injured individuals involved in the crash have been released by Kane County officials. Deceased are sister and brother Grace (20) and Emil (19) Diewald of unincorporated St. Charles Township. Grace was a front seat passenger and Emil a back seat passenger in the Lexus SUV the crashed into the school bus. An autopsy was performed earlier today, and the preliminary cause of death was determined to be blunt-force trauma due to the crash. An apparent drug deal at the Clock Tower Plaza went wrong Saturday afternoon, resulting in a struggle during which a firearm was discharged. Two men have been charged in the incident. At approximately 1:22 p.m. on Saturday, Elgin police responded to the Clock Tower Plaza for a report of shots fired.
