On January 27, 2017, at approximately 7 p.m., Matthew Lange, a professor at Lewis University, arrived at Scullen Middle School in Naperville to pick up his son, who was attending Polish School. As he was waiting in his car, Mr. Lange was shot multiple times and died of his injuries a short time later.
