On Thursday evening at 8:46 PM, the DeKalb Police Department was notified about a male, later identified as 34-year-old Deaundre Brooks of DeKalb, who had been dropped off at Northwestern Medicine-Kishwaukee Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The identity and cause of death of a woman found dead next to a vehicle in Oswego Saturday morning has been determined by the Kendall County Coroner. The massive winter storm that passed through Northern Illinois on Thursday resulted in power outages that very well might last until Saturday for some residents. At one point, approximately 98,000 customers had lost power as a result of the storm, with the Fox Valley area comprising roughly 13,000 of the total.
