Welcome to our latest edition of Fox Valley Magazine’s

    4 FOR THE WEEKEND

where, unlike the competition, our bologna
    has only one name.

So let’s get to it, starting with…..

Every Day I Have The Blues

(Apologies to Joe Williams, who we still insist does the iconic rendition of that blues standard.)

I know we keep harping on The Venue and stuff, but honestly, this place really has it going on. It seems like every weekend they’ve got a killer lineup that covers the musical waterfront.

This weekend is no different, and it starts off with blues man Shawn Holt and his band The Teardrops. Check it out.

We Said Every Day, Didn’t We?

    And we meant it.

And what could possibly cure the blues better than some authentic barbeque and a few cold ones?

So Saturday, head on up (over, for you Elginites) to East Dundee and join Dukes Blues N BBQ for their 2021 Blues Festival.

The lineup is great both days, but we’d suggest Saturday evening, which ought to be mind-blowing.

    On The Other Hand…

…maybe you need some comedy to escape your blues.

If so, Billy Bricks Pizza in St. Charles is the place to be Saturday evening.

Management has decided that the world needs a laugh just now, and they’re doing their part by partnering with Chicago impresario Derrick J to bring humor to the Fox Valley.

(You could actually still do the Blues Festival, since it runs Saturday from 12:30. Just sayin’.)

And Wind It Up By Lapping Up Some Culture

So, after a gritty but satisfying couple of days, soothe your soul with a little culture at the venerable Geneva Art Fair.

Now sure, it may seem a little fru-fru after having indulged in blues and adult comedy all weekend, but look, man does not live on barbeque alone. Every now and then he needs some refinement.

And since the Bears aren’t on yet…..

Your weekly weekend weather advisory is looking hot and muggy this weekend. High temperatures break the 90 degree mark, so plan accordingly.

If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.

Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.

Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH!  One more thing.  If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
