Two Aurora men were hospitalized Saturday evening after being struck by gunfire during a gathering on the city’s east side.

According to police, at approximately 11:55pm Saturday Aurora Police officers responded to the 200 block of North Loucks Street for reports of two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.

Responding officers located two mean, 29 and 35, respectively, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid and both victims were transported by Aurora Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation indicates the victims were attending a gathering outside a residence when they were struck by gunfire shortly before midnight.

At this time, investigators believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the community. The motive remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Aurora Police Department’s Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500.
