4 FOR THE WEEKEND
where Father’s Day reminds fathers everywhere how inferior they are to mothers.
So let’s get to it, starting with…..
Splish, Splash, Baby!
Hallelujah, it’s summer!
Well, ok, technically summer doesn’t really start until June 21, according to killjoy scientists like Neil deGrasse Tyson who not only sucks the fun out of everything (including Santa Claus, for Pete’s sake) but also is pretentious enough to have three names – the middle of which is spelled pretentiously.
But it feels like summer. And what better thing to do in summer than go to a waterpark?
(I’ll bet NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON doesn’t go to waterparks. If he did it would be to stand there, fully clothed in a suit and tie, and harangue the guests with microbiological warnings.)
(No, we aren’t fans of NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON.)

Sun and Soul
Gonna be a great weekend at Naper Settlement as the 2nd Annual SoulFest sets up shop on Friday and Saturday.
We attended this last year, and it’s a blast. Kinda like a big ol’ bbq at the park, but with some awesome live music.
So bring the lawn chairs, bring the kids, and bring an appetite. It’s a great time.

Love Us Some First Fridays
Aurora does a fantastic job with its FIrst Fridays events.
Taking advantage of the downtown and riverfront, the monthly celebration really covers every taste, from art to music to food..whatever tips your cow.
(OK, that reference was uncalled for. But, hey, we were born downstate, where cow-tipping is a bloody art form.)
Anyway, head on over after work. Oh, and did we mention? FOOD TRUCKS!!!

And Finally…
Who are these guys?
A cappella groups are making something of a comeback, and Straight No Chaser is right there riding the wave.
High-energy, really talented and frankly hilarious, these guys are way entertaining. Check ’em out at the Paramount this Saturday.

It looks like it’s going to be a fantastic weekend. Saturday afternoon things will get a bit cloudy, and Sunday looks to have some late rain, but other than that, sun and highs in the upper 70s (Saturday low 70s). Tough to beat that. As ever, plan accordingly.
If, for whatever reason, none of our fabulous four events doesn’t pop your cork, we’ll be very insulted. However, all hope is not lost. Simply go to www.foxvalleymagazine.com and check out our A+E and Events sections for other ideas.
Finally, please do us a favor. We would be eternally grateful if you could share this with some of your unsuspecting family, friends and neighbors. We’d also appreciate some love on our Facebook page (see below). Ok, technically it’s a “LIKE,” but don’t be pedantic. Also, that’s actually two favors. We’ll owe you.
Thanks for reading. Until next time…OH! One more thing. If you’re reading this via the website and would like to have this emailed to you bright and early every Friday morning, please SUBSCRIBE!
