A 30-year-old Bloomingdale man was seriously injured early Wednesday morning when he apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a brick mailbox on Route 25 in Geneva.
According to police, a preliminary investigation indicated that the man was driving northbound on Route 25 when his vehicle exited the roadway off the east side and struck a brick mailbox, a parked vehicle in a driveway, and a utility pole.
The man was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center with serious injuries.
A portion of Route 25 from Woodward Avenue in Geneva to Moore Avenue in St. Charles was closed overnight while law enforcement and emergency management personnel were on the scene. The roadway was reopened at 7:45am Wednesday morning.
