Syrah 2022
This June, Lynfred Winery shines a spotlight on one of the wine world’s most beloved varietals: Syrah. Revered for centuries in France’s Rhône Valley and now flourishing in Washington’s Columbia Valley, Syrah has become known for its bold character, layered complexity, and remarkable versatility at the table. Lynfred Winery’s 2022 Syrah captures all of those qualities with elegance and approachability.

Crafted from Washington-grown fruit, the 2022 vintage reflects the Columbia Valley’s ideal growing conditions, where warm sun-filled days and cool evenings help develop concentrated flavors while preserving balance and freshness. The result is a wine of deep ruby color with expressive aromas of plum, violets, vanilla, toasted oak, and mocha coffee.
On the palate, the wine unfolds with rich notes of black plum, blueberry, tart cherry, vanilla, cracked black pepper, and savory herbs. Medium-bodied with vibrant acidity and smooth, round tannins, the Syrah offers a polished structure that invites another sip.

The winery recommends pairing the 2022 Syrah with hearty, flavor-forward dishes such as herb-crusted lamb chops, smoked brisket, mushrooms and sausage lasagna, mushroom risotto, or eggplant Parmesan with basil. Cheese lovers will find especially delicious companions in Smoked Gouda, cave-aged Cheddar, and Gruyère.

As Lynfred Winery continues its decades-long tradition of crafting wines that overdeliver in both quality and hospitality, the 2022 Syrah stands as a beautiful example of how Washington terroir and thoughtful winemaking can come together in one memorable glass. $27- Available at www.lynfredwinery.com
