According to the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office, additional charges have been filed against the suspect in Saturday’s alleged armed robbery in Oswego.
In addition to the initial charges of of Armed Robbery and Armed Violence, the suspect is now charged with Aggravated Robbery, Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card).
The suspect appeared for a detention hearing today, where he was ordered to remain in custody pending further court proceedings. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 22, 2026.
The investigation is ongoing.
A 22-year-old DeKalb man is in custody after allegedly using a firearm to rob an Oswego man sitting in his driveway early Saturday morning.
According to Oswego police, at approximately 3:24am Saturday, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Concord Drive South for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they interviewed an Oswego man, the victim, who reported that he was sitting in his car outside his home when he was approached by the suspect who displayed a firearm and robbed him. According to the account, the victim then retrieved a firearm from his residence and chased after the suspect, who pointed a gun at him. The victim fired multiple shots at the suspect, after which the suspect fled by car.
The victim returned to his vehicle and followed the suspect vehicle northbound on Orchard Road until both vehicles crashed near Orchard Road and Highway I-88. Two individuals fled from the suspect vehicle. One was located by Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies and turned over to the Oswego Police Department. The second individual has not yet been located.
The suspect in custody has been charged with armed robbery and armed violence, both Class X Felonies. He was transported to the Kendall County Jail to await a pre-trial hearing on Monday, April 27, 2026. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
