A 60-year-old Waukegan man has been sentenced to 48 years in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting an Aurora child over a three-year period beginning in 2006.
On January 28 of this year, a jury convicted Glenn Wilson of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X felony (4 counts), and Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class 1 felony (4 counts).
According to prosecutors, from 2006 to 2009 Wilson lived with the victim and her family at a home in Aurora. During this time period he repeatedly sexually abused the victim in the home.
Wilson was sentenced to eight years in prison for each count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and four years for each count of Criminal Sexual Assault. All counts are to be served consecutively.
In addition to the prison term, Wilson must register for life as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.
In accordance with Illinois law, Wilson must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence. Wilson received credit for 86 days served in the Kane County jail.
“The defendant used his position as an authority figure to sexually abuse the victim,” Assistant State’s Attorneys Matthew Rodgers said. “He then threatened her into silence. Despite that, the victim was determined to hold him accountable for his horrific acts.”
