The Batavia Police Department has issued a request for the public’s assistance in identifying the vehicle and/or driver implicated in a hit-and-run early this morning which resulted in injuries to the victim.
According to Batavia police, this morning at approximately 5:34am a vehicle struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk and fled the scene without stopping. The crash occurred as the vehicle was traveling northbound on Route 25 and turning left (westbound) onto East Wilson Street. The vehicle was last seen in the area of Route 31.
The pedestrian sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
Anyone in the area having surveillance or dash-camera footage, or who recognize the vehicle or driver, is requested to contact the Batavia Police Department at 630-454-2500.
