The common refrain from police to lock your cars and avoid leaving valuables within is never truer than now in the Fox Valley, it would seem.
Batavia police reported three separate car burglaries that took place in the early hours of Thursday morning, all in the Tanglewood subdivision on the west side of Batavia.
Authorities indicated that other, nearby jurisdictions have received similar reports of car burglaries.
According to authorities, the latest incident occurred at approximately 2:00am, in the 2400 block of Bird Lane in Batavia. The victim reported their white 2024 Toyota Highlander stolen from their driveway. The suspects arrived in a small, white SUV.
Police checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or any suspects. Police were subsequently notified of car burglaries in the area located in the 2500 block of Bird Lane and the 800 block of Twin Elms Lane.
According to police, all of these incidents are likely connected.
Batavia Police are actively developing and following leads and working with other law enforcement agencies.
