Three Aurora men are in custody charged with multiple felonies, including armed robbery and weapons charges, relation to an alleged armed robbery Monday evening. The final suspect was apprehended Thursday.
According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday at approximately 6:36pm, deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery with shots fired and an individual injured in the 800 block of Konen Avenue in Aurora Township.
An investigation indicates that a red Mitsubishi Outlander arrived at the 800 block of Konen Avenue, where the three suspects approached the vehicle and demanded that the driver, identified as Mickey Stewart, a 31-year-old male from Aurora, give them money and a cell phone, which were given. As the incident occurred, one suspect fired a weapon, causing an injury to the victim’s right leg. The victim was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center with non-life- threatening injuries and later released by medical staff.
The suspects, ranging in age from 20 to 24, fled the scene, running northbound from the 800 block of Konen Avenue. K9s and a drone were deployed to locate evidence and the individuals involved in the incident. All have now been apprehended.
The suspects have all been charged with the following crimes:
- ARMED ROBBERY WITH FIREARM
- ARMED ROBBERY-DISCHARGED FIREARM-GREAT BODILY HARM OR DEATH
- AGGRAVATED BATTERY DISCHARGE FIREARM
- ARMED VIOLENCE – COMMITS FELONY WITH CATEGORY I WEAPON
- AGGRAVATED UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT
- MOB ACTION VIOLENCE
- AGG UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON/VEHICLE/LOADED/NO FCCA/NO FOID
- UNLAWFUL RESTRAINT
One suspect was also charged with AGG UNLAWFUL POSS OF WEAPON IN VEHICLE WITH PREVIOUS CONVICTION.
